I like robots when they do tedious tasks that I don't have time for.

Robots that replace medical office staff or customer service representatives infuriate me. I keep shouting into the phone, “I want to speak with a real person!”

Years spent educating human minds, only to find them competing with the least sophisticated chatbot. Perhaps the children who chose vocational schools were the wise ones. My opinion balances on a knife’s edge.

Inspired by a trip to Toby Fraley's Robot Repair Shop, a Hanna-Barbera Land of bright and friendly robots emerged on linen. It looks like it ends badly.

Smiling, shiny colored playthings beckon us. Metal toys with razor-sharp edges and springs which trap our fingers. They are out of the boxes and in our nurseries, listening, watching and quietly replacing our friends.

Strange companions—with loyalty yet to be determined. The robots seem deceptive and supportive at the same time, giving sweet gifts as they dull our thoughts and replace our gods.
