The Girl and the Horse Series

In my latest body of work, I explore the powerful dialogue between

freedom, innocence, and strength. Horses—ancient symbols of spirit and resilience—

become both the guardians and companions of a young girl, representing creativity’s

boundless energy and the courage to dream.

These large-scale oil paintings are layered with movement, emotion, and light, inspired by

the visceral landscapes of Kentucky’s horse country and shaped by my global experiences

as a painter. Each brushstroke is a conversation between tradition and modernity, between

humanity and the natural world.

As I bring this work to Asia for the Jeju Art for Earth Festival, I’m

inspired by the island’s harmony with nature and its rich cultural narratives. The Girl and

the Horse is not simply a series of portraits or landscapes—it is a journey into the shared

language of motion, spirit, and connection that transcends borders.

Art, for me, is a universal dialogue. With this series, I invite collectors and audiences to step

into a space of stillness and power, where the raw beauty of the horse mirrors our own

search for freedom and belonging.
